KERVANNA CANINES

Who is Kervanna Canines?
My name is Chloe Wakeling and I have worked with dogs for over ten years, in a multitude of different sections of the canine industry.
I have competed and shown at Crufts and Championship levels for 14 years and now a handler of a top Xōlōitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless) in the Uk (Pictured bottom right). I have shown and handled Dalmatians, German Shepherds, Beagles, Whippets and Labradors. I have also competed in Rally O, Gundog Trails, Competitive Obedience and Junior/Adult Handling. I now judge at companion to open show level, I am currently on the C list for GSDs - I have been judging for around nine years.
I have a 2.1 Animal Management BSc Hons degree from Writtle University College and hold MRes Animal Welfare and Behaviour from Hartpury University. I am pursuing my PhD to start in the new year focusing on rescue dogs and DNA analysis. I have two published papers; my undergraduate dissertation on popular sire syndrome in pastoral breeds and my Postgraduate study on Biomechanics of German Shepherds and welfare implications of 'types'.
Aside from my competitive side, I have also worked for Battersea Dogs Home as a rehomer, as well as kennel supervisors roles for small dog charities. I have also been a practical teacher, teaching animal management and science courses for a West London college.
I am now located in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. I have a current and clear DBS.
